As a developer, I saw a gap in the market. Most "free" expense trackers were paying for their services by harvesting user data. I wanted to build something different.

Combining my academic background from the University of Portsmouth with a passion for Android development, I built Sapts to be the tool I wanted to use: fast, professional, and completely private.

From First-Class Graduate to Founder

My name is Paul Andrew Assiaw, and my journey with Sapts began shortly after I graduated in 2024 from the University of Portsmouth (UK) with a First-Class BSc (Hons) in Computing and Information Systems.

Despite graduating with top honours, the transition into the professional world was not without its hurdles. Like many recent graduates, I found myself navigating a challenging job market. Rather than waiting for an opportunity to come to me, I decided to build one. I chose to put my skills, my passion for clean code, and my dedication to user privacy to work. The result of that determination is Sapts.

What is Sapts?

Sapts is more than just an expense tracker. Built on a foundation of Privacy-First and Offline-First architecture, it ensures that your sensitive financial data stays exactly where it belongs: on your device. Leveraging cutting-edge technologies like Machine Learning and high-performance native libraries, Sapts provides a seamless experience for scanning receipts and generating professional PDF and CSV (MS Excel) reports, all without requiring a constant internet connection.
