Getting Started with Sapts: Your First Receipt Scan

Step 1: Open and Prep

Launch the Sapts app on your device. You’ll notice our new, seamless Splash Screen and Edge-to-Edge design—everything is optimized to give you the most screen space possible.

  • Tip: Place your receipt on a flat, dark surface. High contrast helps our AI detect the edges perfectly!

Step 2: Capture the Magic

Tap the Camera Icon on your dashboard.

  • Alignment: Position your phone directly over the receipt.
  • Lighting: Natural light is best, but thanks to our recent updates, our OCR (Optical Character Recognition) engine is now better than ever at reading text in lower light.
  • The Snap: Take the photo. Sapts will automatically highlight the receipt edges to ensure a clean crop.

Step 3: AI Data Extraction

Once captured, Sapts goes to work. Our intelligent OCR engine automatically scans the image to find:

  • Merchant Name
  • Date of Purchase
  • Total Amount & Tax
  • Currency

Review the extracted info. If anything looks off (sometimes those faded receipts are tricky!), you can quickly tap to edit the fields.

Step 4: Categorize and Save

Assign a category (like “Shopping,” “Education,” or “Business”) to make tax season a breeze. You can also add a quick note for your records.

  • Need a Signature? If this is a delivery or a contract, use our Digital Signature tool to sign right on the screen with your finger or a stylus.

Step 5: Secure and Sync

Tap Save. Your receipt is now safely stored in the cloud. You can throw away that scrap of paper knowing your digital copy is secure, searchable, and audit-ready.
